Jerry and Prostate Cancer

In September of 2004, at the age of 52, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Needless to say, this was a devastating event in my life.  After doing a tremendous amount of research, I had my prostate surgically removed on Dec. 1, 2004 at the City of Hope Medical Center in Duarte, CA.

In March of 2005, I began participation in a two year clinical trial study of chemotherapy and hormone therapy.

Throughout the months during which I have dealt with this disease, humor and laughter have played a vital role in maintaining my sanity and in my recovery.

I am writing a book about my experiences with the goal of encouraging all cancer patients to stay positive in their attitudes and to laugh as much as possible.

Thanks for the many wonderful notes and messages I have received from all over the country. They've been very encouraging.  If you have a friend or relative with cancer, call them and write them and visit them.  That love and attention are invaluable.

I am pleased to be back writing humor for my clients.  It feels good to write and perform and feel funny, once again!

Men, GET THAT PSA BLOOD TEST DONE TODAY!  Getting a PSA test and acting on the results undoubtedly have extended my life.

Be well!

Jerry

I've got a wonderful doctor.

If you can't afford the operation, he will touch up the x-rays.
